Jim's Electric Company was founded in 1976 by Jim and Nancy Grant in Randall, Minnesota — built on the belief that quality work and honoring your commitments
are the foundation of everything. Nearly 50 years later, those values still drive every job we take on.
Today, Jim's Electric is led by President Jesse Grant and has grown to more than 40 employees — licensed electricians, technology specialists, project
managers, and support staff — serving residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial customers across Central Minnesota from our locations in Baxter
and Little Falls.
Jim's Electric is fully licensed and insured in the state of Minnesota. We carry general liability insurance and workers' compensation on every project, and all of our electricians hold current Minnesota electrical licenses. We are a proud member of the Central Minnesota business community and have been a trusted local employer for nearly five decades.
Jim's History
Jim's Electric Company Opens
Jim and Nancy Grant move the family from Minneapolis to Randall with nothing more then a dream and a hard work ethic. Jim's Electric Company's doors open as a family owned and operated business!
Moves to Brainerd
As the need for electrical services and as the customer service shifted to the growing Brainerd Lakes area, Jim decides to move and open office in the Baxter Industrial Park, creating great growth opportunities for all involved.
Starts Installing Generators
​Milestone — With scare of Y2K, we had lots of request for generators, Jim's Electric Company becomes the first Kohler dealer in the area.
Starts Installing Low Voltage
As the demand for smart, connected systems grew across the Brainerd Lakes area, our team expanded its expertise to include low voltage installation services — bringing the same commitment to quality and reliability to data networks, security systems, and home automation.
50 Years in Business
As Jim's Electric marks 50 years of serving the Brainerd Lakes area, we reflect on the dedication, hard work, and loyal customers that made it all possible.
